Location

Praia do Rosa (Florianopolis and the southern coasts, Brazil)

Description

The Pousada Vida Sol e Mar is on Rosa’s beach, a location which attracts the biggest concentration of southern Right whales along the whole Catarinense coastline.

Activities

The Pousada is a base for the Instituto Baleia Franca, a non-profit organisation that since 1981 has promoted and fought for the preservation of these unique whales. Whale watching is dependent upon the season (generally July to mid-October), whales and weather. Sightings cannot be guaranteed but disappointment is unlikely. Other possible activities include surfing (they have their own surf school run by Rodrigo Litman) and windsurfing, horse riding, and walks in the Atlantic forest.

Accommodation

Owned and run by our friends the Litman family it has a great relaxed friendly atmostphere. The cottages are dotted around the property, there is a swimming pool, good restaurant and beautiful views of (and immediate access to) Praia do Rosa.
