Location

Caburé (Lencois Maranhenses and the colonial ports, Brazil)

Description

A simple pousada in the isolated fishing village of Caburé, on a narrow spit of sand between the Atlantic ocean and Preguiças river. There is a restaurant and a small plastic pool, otherwise swimming is in the river on one side and the ocean on the other.

Accommodation

10 rooms, each with a small veranda, hammock, and bathroom (no hot water), and slatted windows.

Our comments

There is usually a powerful breeze off the ocean which cools things down at night.
