Description
In the centre of the island, with views to the Pico de Morro rock and the Atlantic ocean beyond. The restaurant is excellent with a wide selection of wine. In the centre of the complex is a lovely drop-away pool.
Activities
The easiest way to get around is either hire a buggy or use the island’s buggy taxi service. There is a small shop in Zé María's old house where island tours can be booked and buggies booked.
Accommodation
20 attractive tiled bungalows (2 large rooms per unit) each with a large veranda, air conditioning, TV and hot water. Those is the deluxe category are slightly larger with just one room per unit and have a jacuzzi on the veranda. There are also several apartments (cheaper but no veranda).
Our comments
One of the most comfortable pousadas on the island - really more of an hotel. The Italian restaurant of Pousada da Morena is a 2 minute walk away.
When to go
Year round. It is almost impossible to get space during national holidays unless you book months ahead.
Client comments and reviews
A wonderful place and the staff were very helpful. It is good for guests to know that they have late night music Wednesday and Saturday when they have their buffet evening.
