Puelo and the Southern Lake District image

Renting a car is an excellent way to explore, and there is wonderful walking, riding and fishing. The spectacular crossing of the Andes into Argentina by lake and land is possible all year, although it is more likely to be clear in the summer (December to March).

    Mitico Puelo Lodge

    Lodge/Hosteria - Puelo valley
A stunningly remote lodge in the Puelo valley, reached by private boat across the Tagua Tagua lake after a drive of 2-3 hours from Puerto Varas. Built originally as a fishing lodge, it is now run as a secluded small hotel with a family-run feel. Sustainability is at the heart of their operation, from the careful use of local materials to the creation of a 3,000 hectare private reserve to conserve the local temperate Valdivian rainforest. There is a spacious sitting room with log fire and a billiards room.
