Viceroy Riviera Maya

Xcalacoco, north of Playa del Carmen (The Riviera Maya, Mexico)

A small stylish hotel in a secluded spot with character, a lovely beachside pool, relaxing spa, yoga room and ocean view restaurant and bar. The thatched villas/rooms are scattered throughout the gardens, giving ultimate privacy.

Formerly called The Tides.

Relax, snorkel, dive, visit Maya ruins, yoga, spa.

The 30 villas, including 1 suite, are almost identical, spacious, very stylish and each has a private plunge pool, terrace, outside shower and stylish interior. The Sasil villas also have a wooden deck with sunbed. None are ocean front.

Our comments

It is not possible to swim off the beach due to rocks and exposed reef left after Hurricane Wilma but there is a pier to swim from.

There are minimum stay restrictions at peak times of year.

No children under 16. Perfect for honeymoon.

Client comments and reviews

Open QuoteThe accommodation on the Riviera Maya was high class but we probably found it a bit too American in its approach to service.Close Quote - VB (February 2019)
Open QuoteViceroy Riviera Maya was a case of saving the best until last. Super luxury, great food, amazing service and unbelievably spacious accommodation. As always, Last Frontiers really does know the best places to stay.Close Quote - GD (November 2018)
