Futangue Hotel & Spa

Location

Ranco lake, between Pucón and Puerto Montt (Pucón and the Northern Lake District, Chile)

Description

A countryside hotel and nature reserve on the shores of Lago Ranco and just outside the northern edge of Puyehue National Park. The hotel has been built using native wood to complement the surrounding environment and the interior features work by Chilean artists and textiles from the Mapuche culture.

Activities

The hotel reserve has 110km of trails through spectacular and diverse countryside including Valdivian temperate rainforest. Excursions within the reserve or further afield can be booked with the hotel at additional cost - these include hiking, riding, fishing, cycling, kayaking and rafting. There is a spa, heated indoor pool, restaurant and bar.

Accommodation

There are 26 rooms, 16 in the main hotel building and 10 in the 'Exploradores House'.

Our comments

A great option for those exploring the northern Lake District with a hire car and wanting a stop of a few nights between Puerto Varas and Pucón (each of which are around 200km away).

Client comments and reviews

Open QuoteThe Futangue Hotel was really lovely, probably the nicest place we stayed at. We were unlucky with the weather but the hotel itself was a delight.Close Quote - I&JG (February 2026)
Open QuoteAs a place to stay this was only bettered by EcoCamp and Torres del Paine. The hotel was lovely, the food delicious, the staff incredibly helpful and friendly (well they were Chilean after all!), and the one walk we did (the brilliantly named Sendero Piedras Quemadas) was great. Simply a fabulous place. Could easily have spent a couple of extra days here (we stayed 2 nights).Close Quote - JH (October 2025)
Open QuoteA standout hotel was Parque Futangue. Brilliant service and great food. Our one full day there was, unfortunately, rained off, but we used the spa.Close Quote - SK (February 2025)
Open QuoteFutangue was lovely but they do need a bit of support with some ideas, which were passed on. The dinner was good and the room comfortable although there was little storage space.Close Quote - D&KT (January 2024)
Open QuoteThe hotel is in an amazing location and we had a fantastic time fishing (and caught a lot), and the ladies did a guided hike.Close Quote - MS (November 2023)
