Peru in a week - Sunday Times article mentions Last Frontiers

On 26 June Jeremy Lazell, writing in the Sunday Times, set a challenge: which tour operator would you choose to discover the soul of a country in just seven days. Twelve countries were listed, and for Peru (the only chosen country in Latin America) a custom itinerary we had created was chosen as the winner.

Peru is a real country of highlights - from ancient Inca sites to colonial cities, lush Amazon rainforest to the high Andes. There is something for everyone: trekking, rafting and mountain biking for the more active, Orient-Express trains and top class restaurants for others.

Our suggested trip for The Sunday Times included time in the Sacred Valley of the Incas, Machu Picchu (including the chance to climb Huayna Picchu), Cusco and the Amazon. There was a tour of a Sunday market and the Sacred Valley, a cookery lesson with celebrity chef Pedro Miguel Schiaffino, a pony trek to the ruins of Sacsayhuaman, and an optional rafting trip on the Urubamba - all before flying to an Amazon lodge to explore the rain forest by foot and canoe. Seven nights cost from £3,040, including all breakfasts and some other meals, flights from the UK, and transfers.

This is just an idea - there are many possible itineraries and with our in-depth knowledge of the region and passion for Latin America we can help put together the perfect holiday for you. Just contact us (01296 653000 or info@lastfrontiers.com).

“We're back home and what an absolutely fantastic trip. Peru is a gorgeous country and the Andes are the most amazing mountains in the world as far as I'm concerned. I had heard lots of great things about Peru but I really did not expect it to be as gorgeous as it was. Wow!! Thanks for all of your help in organizing a super trip with memories that we'll cherish forever.”
