If you’re watching the second series of The Night Manager, with Tom Hiddleston, Diego Calva and Camila Morrone, then you can’t have helped admiring the beautiful Colombian scenery. In Medellín, the so-called Gran Meliá doesn’t exist (that hotel filmed is actually in Barcelona!) but the city is as attractive and interesting as portrayed.
Casa PestaguaWhen the action moves to Cartagena we gather filming took place at the Casa Pestagua, which is only one of the several superb boutique and characterful small hotels in the ‘citadel within a city’ that is the old colonial centre. When we last visited I see we said it felt a little more formal than the other hotels at its level - probably ideal for the plot.
