Hato Garza, The Llanos

Description

A beautiful property and the most comfortable in the area. The swimming pool is beautiful and overlooks the Llanos. There is a lounging area by its side and a telescope for wildlife spotting and star gazing. There is also a bar and separate dining room where guests can eat together or on their own.

Activities

Wildlife observation and birdwatching. There are customised vehicles for excursions around the ranch, boats for the wet season, and horses for riding. You even get to see quite a lot just walking near the buildings.

Accommodation

The rooms are screened only (no glass), and have fans so are kept cool. There are some lovely touches with local woods and typical artisan products.

Our comments

If you are interested in wildlife, want to stay somewhere where you can do every type of excursion and also want good comfort then this is by far the most luxurious in the area. Not much English is spoken however.

When to go

During the dry season from December to April, although it is open all year and still impressive in the wet season (from June to October) when the savanna is flooded.
