This amazing trek takes you below and beyond the Machu Picchu to the rarely visited place – Espiritu Pampa - the definitive final outpost of the Inca Empire.

Following time exploring Cusco and the Sacred Valley you visit the famous Inca site of Machu Picchu. Following Machu Picchu you head further into the jungle by train and vehicle to begin the trek into the Vilcabamba region, following the footsteps of the Incas as they fled from the invading Spanish, to their final hiding place – Espiritu Pampa.

This is a spectacular journey, understanding the fleeing of the Incas and involving a rewarding low altitude trek that is rarely undertaken - in 2008, less than 250 people visited this site.
