Panama Highlights

A relaxing 14 day trip to experience all the fascinating highlights of Panama; the Canal, the Highlands, the culture of the Kuna Indians and the snorkelling and wildlife of Bocas.

Panama City

Days 1-2: Met and driven to Hotel Bristol to spend 2 nights at this boutique hotel with excellent service. The following day enjoy the partial transit through the famous man-made Panama Canal to realise the enormity of the canal.

San Blas Islands

Days 3-4: Fly to San Blas Islands and met by paddle canoe for the journey to Uaguinega Lodge (Dolphin Lodge), owned and operated by the Kuna Indians. Spend 2 nights at the lodge where accommodation is simple but the Kuna ensure you are well looked after. A tour to visit a local village is included as well as opportunities to go snorkelling.

Chiriquí Highlands

Days 5-7: Fly back to Panama City and on to David in the Western Highlands. Driven to Boquete for 3 nights at Palo Alto Lodge, a boutique hotel, just outside town. Visit Finca Lerida coffee plantation and learn about the coffee process. There is also opportunities to go walking in the cloud forest, bird-watching and white-water rafting.

Bocas del Toro

Days 8-11: Driven north to Almirante and take a boat across to Colon Island, the main island in the Bocas del Toro archipelago. Met and driven to Bocas Inn for 2 nights, a small hotel on the waterfront just outside town. Enjoy a full day snorkelling tour visiting key areas such as Hospital Point. Met for boat trip to Punta Caracol to spend a further 2 nights relaxing at this lovely hotel, built on stilts above the water. Rooms are in cabins over the water with a private terrace to relax on. You can also organise snorkelling and boat tours locally.

Canal Zone

Days 12-14: Fly back to Panama City and Amador Country Inn and Suites, overlooking the canal. The following morning take the train ride from Panama City to Colón, on the Caribbean. Continue to Portobello, the historical fort where Francis Drake was killed and explore this lovely spot before returning to Panama City for your last night. Before the evening flight home, visit the lush rainforest around Gatun lake and walk in the Summit national park.
