Air passes in South America
We get lots of emails about the various Air Passes throughout South America, so we summarise them here to avoid repeating ourselves! We will try to keep the page up-to-date, but as these change regularly can offer no guarantees of accuracy of the information. These fares are as informed to us by the airlines for travel from the UK, but in most cases we would imagine that the same sort of deals would apply to other countries.
Gol Brazil Air Pass
Air pass for travel within Brazil, on routes operated by Gol. Valid for non-residents of South America who are holders of an international ticket arriving into Brazil. There is also a Gol North-east Air Pass for those only visiting north-east Brazil. Click here for details
Gol Mercosul Air Pass
Air pass for travel within South America, on routes operated by Gol. Valid for non-residents of South America who are holders of a return international ticket arriving into Brazil, Argentina, Bolivia, Chile, Paraguay and/or Uruguay. Click here for details
LAN South America Air Pass
Air pass for passengers residing outside South America (except Brazil), for travel within South America (except the Falkland Islands) on LAN and who arrive into South America on LAN, Iberia or a oneworld alliance airline. Also SA, AM, CA, JJ or UA. Click here for details
Mercosur Air Pass
This was a useful air pass covering most southern Latin American countries but is no longer a realistic option for most itineraries. A TAM South America Air Pass or a LAN South America Air Pass are better alternatives.

Allows for travel within South America on certain airlines as long as your intercontinental ticket is booked with a member of the One World Alliance. Click here for details
TAM Brazil Air Pass
Good value air pass for travel within Brazil, on routes operated by TAM. Valid for non-residents of Brazil who are holders of an international return ticket to Brazil (as long as the international flight is not with Lan Airlines). Click here for details
TAM South America Air Pass
Valid for holders of international tickets to and from the countries valid on the pass (as long as the international flight is not with Lan Airlines). Used for travel around South America on routes operated by TAM. Click here for details
Visit Argentina Air Pass
