Brazil - Santa Catarina adventure
A visit to the spectacular Iguassu Falls, followed by trekking in the beautiful Aparados da Serra Mountains, staying in simple accommodation, then to Praia do Rosa beach for surfing or riding, (here you can visit Laguna where the wild dolphins help the fishermen!), followed by an exciting rafting trip before some well earned rest and relaxation on a beautiful beach north of Florianopolis.
Iguassu Falls
Days 1-4: Fly to Iguassu Falls via São Paulo. Driven to the Hotel Das Cataratas for 3 nights where you can see the spectacular falls and explore the walkways right from the hotel. It is also possible to visit the Argentine side of the falls too.
Florianópolis
Days 5-7: Fly on to Porto Alegre. Driven into the mountains, approximately 3 hours and stay at the rustic Refugio Pedra Afiada for 3 nights. This is a great base to explore the area and take day treks.
Days 8-11: Driven to Praia do Rosa and the Caminho do Rei for 4 nights. The pousada is on a hilltop above the beach. Possible activities include surfing, or riding on the beach. From here it is easy to arrange trips to Laguna where the wild dolphins herd fish to the local fishermen.
Days 12-14: A morning's rafting on the Rio Cubatão before you are driven to northern Florianopolis to spend 3 nights at the luxurious Ponta dos Ganchos for some rest and relaxation.
Day 15: Fly back São Paulo for onward connections.
