An exceptional hotel on a white sand beach with pool, bar and restaurant all set in lovely grounds. A quiet hideaway just 2 miles from San Pedro, which is easily accessible by buggy, bike or taxi.

Activities

Local tours include: snorkelling (Hol Chan Marine Park and Shark & Ray Alley), glass-bottomed boat, and various diving and fishing activities. Private boat charters possible. The main land excursions that are worth doing from here (rather than from the mainland) are Altun Ha and Lamanai (a 45' boat ride, then one enters a mangrove-fringed river, lots of wildlife, and bus for rest of the way). All tours are normally shared with other hotels (Victoria House is last pick-up, and first drop-off).

Our comments

Charming hotel with impeccable service, in a superb and quiet location. San Pedro itself is a busy town and Victoria House offers a great escape, but is still close enough to town if you want to explore.

When to go

Avoid September to November (hurricane season), busiest December to March (US high season).
