Peuma Hue

Location

Gutiérrez Lake (Bariloche and Villa la Angostura, Argentina)

Description

A charming rural hotel set in 500 acres at the end of a beautiful lake, with 2 miles of lake shore. It is surrounded by pristine forests, mountains, streams and waterfalls. A homely atmosphere with good food.

Activities

Possible activities include riding (they have their own stable), mountain biking, skiing, kayaks, a tyrolean crossing (in summer), zodiac rides and short walks.

Accommodation

There are 12 comfortable rooms in various buildings and cabins, most with beautiful lake views. The River cabin is particularly suited to those on honeymoon, while the remote Mountain cabin (a kilometer from the main house) might appeal to those seeking total isolation.

Our comments

Evelyn and her staff really know how to make their guests feel at home. The best restaurant in Patagonia (Cassis) is a 20 minute drive away, if you can be tempted away.

When to go

November to May.

Open QuotePeuma Hue was particularly good with very friendly staff and good food, all in a gorgeous setting.Close Quote - IP (February 2014)
Open QuotePeuma Hue was really excellent. Emily rode twice and I rode once, it was good and safety hats and chaps were provided. Emily had the best massage she has ever had and my fishing with the very good guide was blank.Close Quote - PW-A (February 2008)
Open QuotePeuma Hue was excellent and we would highly recommend it to others - it's like an English Country House party with a variety of other guests, mainly from North America. Excellent service in a friendly and efficient style. White water rafting was a great success as was the horse riding and the setting is stunning.Close Quote - CR (December 2007)
Open QuotePeuma Hue - I don't know where to begin. The people were so welcoming, made us feel very special. The food was excellent, accommodation very comfortable. We went horse riding for the first time (twice) through the forests, across mountain streams, hiked up the mountains. We also hired a car for a couple of days so we saw more of the surrounding areas. Met very interesting people there too. We loved the place - it's the sort of place you could stay for ever, just looking at the lakes and mountains.Close Quote - GG (November 2007)
